quiet place to sleep

through this program, children from active war zones come to the Pristanište shelter for two weeks of rest
Программа Поспать в тишине

We created this program in March 2023 to help children and women from Ukraine cope with the stress brought by the war. The Pristanište House is the only shelter in Montenegro that welcomes people with disabilities. Guests are also welcome to bring their pets if they have no one to leave them with in Ukraine.

During their stay in Montenegro, the children spend 12–14 days free from the constant threat of war. They breathe the sea air, spend time in nature, and take part in cultural and social activities that help them regain a peaceful rhythm of life, far from everyday danger. These days are of great importance for their psychological recovery and for strengthening their sense of safety.

“We were transported to another reality”

For the New Year’s holidays, a group of 16 people from the village of Sad in the Sumy region of Ukraine came to us. These are students and teachers of the Sadsky Lyceum.

During the week, they went on a hike to the village of Sveti Stefan, toured the Old Town with a professional guide, got acquainted with the history of Budva, and saw how Badni dan (Christmas Eve in the Balkans) is celebrated here. We also conducted psychological training in the art therapy format for the group. We are glad that we were able to give children and adults this week of rest and quiet, away from the front-line territories.

Here’s what the lyceum’s teachers and children wrote in our review book:

‘We express our sincere gratitude to the entire team of the Pristanište Foundation for the incredibly warm welcome to the Sadovsky Lyceum-children and teachers. Considering our stay in the frontline Sumy region, we were very pleased to feel comfortable and humane attitude, which was manifested in accommodation, provision, and organization of high-quality leisure activities. It is as if we were transported to another reality, which captures us with incredible landscapes, positive emotions, and sincere feelings. You have given us the opportunity at such a difficult moment to be inspired by the peaceful realities that we need so much for our further struggle. We appreciate your kindness and willingness to help anyone who needs it. Thank you for such a warm welcome and for the happy eyes of our children. glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!’

In memory of happiness

Olena, a photographer, responded to our call to help organize leisure activities for Ukrainian children and teenagers. And I arranged a photo shoot for the guys.

Щиро дякуємо всім!

In July, children and teenagers from different cities of Ukraine, whose parents - one or both - serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, lived in Pristaniște. That's what they told us when they left.

40-love for good

Nikita is not a professional coach, he just loves tennis. When he saw our request to help organize leisure activities for Ukrainian children, he rented a court and found the right number of rackets and balls.

“SAP_OVAYA_CHERNOGORIYA”, thank you!

The most favorite summer entertainment of children who come to us from Ukraine is horse riding.

We are waiting for the guys from Kharkiv

They really need at least two weeks of quiet sleep. Please, let's help them. The guys from this group have a common hobby: they all study in the same historical circle.
