We’re developing a new program to support the rehabilitation of families affected by the war in Ukraine: military personnel, volunteers, and children who continue to live amidst the conflict. We call it «Sleep in Silence.»
In January 2024, nine teenagers and their teachers participated in this program at our temporary residence. We wanted them to feel our care, warmth, and love, turning each day at Pristanište into a special and joyful experience.
And it seems we succeeded. They went on excursions, participated in workshops, and simply enjoyed walks around Budva and its surroundings. Judging by their words, they were able to breathe a sigh of relief. And yes, many of them, for the first time since February 2022, finally slept in silence.
This marks the third group to benefit from this program at Pristanište. It reinforces our understanding of how crucial it is to offer people the possibility of taking a break from the war, even if it’s just for a few days, to escape into another world.
